Death Wish Boards

Death Wish Boards
Death Wish boards come in all sizes that will meet your expectations. Most people don't like a certain brand, because they don't have it in their size. I personally do not feel comfortable skating in a board that does not meet my size expectations and that's the board on the left hand. I included this picture to help you visualize that not only does Death Wish boards have great designs but that they also come in many sizes from big and small.

Why Do I Want To Go?

Why Do I Want To Go?
I want to go to college  because I am going to be the first person in my family to even graduate from high school. I want to go to college because I want to show my brothers see that going to college is possible even for us. I also want to prove to my self that I can do anything I set my mind to, I also want to expand my knowledge and open my mind to fascinating things and meet new people and their perspectives on new topics. I want to have a great career. I want to be successful in life. I also want to make a great future for me and my family I will have. I want to have children and I want them to grow up without any struggle for money or knowledge I want my kids to expect to go to college and I can do that by setting an example for them.

Student Lead Conference

The student Lead conference went pretty well for me. I think my brother was very proud to hear all the things he heard that night. I also got my grades that I was really satisfied with. I think my conferences were pretty good my teachers had nothing but good things to say and none of them requested a conference but me and my brother went just to check up on how I am doing in individual classes. Something I would have done different was how we met each of our teachers individually because it was pretty complicated at first and took really long waiting periods I would have made it more organized but it still went well.

1. It is important to set goals so that you know what you want to do and how you are going to get to it.
2.Yes, setting goals helps you because it helps you be organized and helps you know what are your steps.
3. When i achieve a goal I think it is exiting and very rewarding in its own way.
4. It isnt hard for me to make a goal, because I only make a goal if i want to achieve something.

"Walk a Mile in My Shoes"

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
- To Kill A Mockingbird
"Walk a Mile in My Shoes"
By Elvis Presley
If i could be you, if you could be me
For just one hour, if we could find a way
To get inside each other's mind
If you could see you through my eyes
Instead your own ego
I believe you'd be
I believe you'd be surprised to see
That you've been blind
Walk a mile in my shoes
Just walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Then walk a mile in my shoes
Now if we spend the day
Throwin' stones at one another
'cause I will,'cause I will think
To wear my hat the same way you do
Well, I may be common people
But I'm your brother
And when you tryin' to hurt me
It's hurtin' you, Lord how mercy
Now there are people on reservations
And out in the ghetto
And whether they're for the grace of god
Or you and I,
If I only had wings of a little angel
Don't you know, I'd fly
To the top of the mountain
And then I'd cry, cry, cry

Reflection
What I think about this song is first don't judge a person if you don't know their pass or what they've been though. He also says he'd like the person to see their self through his eyes so that they can view their self and how they are acting how they've been blind.

Progress On My 100 Goals

I went to my friends house the other day because he had told me his grandma was old fashion and liked to do stuff by hand and asked if I could help on painting a fence in her backyard and I agreed, because that is one of the goals I am working on I didn't do the whole fence by myself but I still got the hang of doing it. It was a fun experience and I bet I'll use this knowledge in the future when I grow up and have a house of my own. I've also been playing the guitar in my first period instruments so I am working on that goal in school. A new sport I have been getting into is football. I've been playing at the park whenever i see people playing in P.E and in the park on the weekends. I have been talking to people in Spanish more often so I could speak it better and I've been doing writing assignments in my Spanish class to improve my writing in Spanish and that is one of my goals.

Progress on 100 goals

For my 100 goals I have been doing 30 minute work outs. I have been also going to the library to keep up with my reading habits I have been reading the hunger games, catching fire, and blue mocking jay. These books are all created by the same author and I like this author so much that I've even watched the movies of these books. My dad and I were planning on going to a college to look at their campus, we heard the more a student sets foot on a campus they are more likely to go to college than a person that didn't . We are also planning on picking up an application at this campus so I could learn how to complete one.

Progress On The 100 Goals

So far I have been doing alright on my goals, I have been going to the park and playing new sports. For example just this Saturday I played 3 games of basketball and 3 games of tackle football. I played for 10 in the morning and left the park around 2:30. I took a shower and started to study to keep up with my work in school. Now what I do to make sure I do all my weekend homework is do it on Fridays and Saturdays. I was also planning on going this weekend and trying to fill out a college application so that I know how it looks and I'll be prepared to fill one out when I'm actually going to go. I also asked my grandma if she can help teach me how to bake a cake it was really easy and delicious after. I am trying to maintain my grades it's pretty hard but I'm doing what I can to keep up with the work that is assigned both out of class and in class. there is only one goals that I know I failed at and that was eating healthy in 2014 because I ate a cake the day I made it to see if it was good, but that's just one out of the 100.

Progress on My 100 Goals

I have made 100 goals on a notebook and i am trying to do all these goals as soon as i can. Some of my goals are long term and some of my goals are short term that why I'm not putting a certain time in want to finish them but their are some goals I have been working on. Some of these goals have to do with how i am going to do in school this semester to help me do better than last year. I am so far doing all my homework and haven't missed an assignment and I am willing to keep this up till the end of the semester. Some of the goals in my notebook is to be more fit and join a couple of sports the reason I put these as some of my goals, because there are a lot of unfit kids now a days an I don't want to fall under that category. I have been going to the Linda Marquez Park to do work outs, run the track, and even play basketball with my brother.

Using winter break time wisely....

Using winter break time wisely....
1. wake up early. Nothing eats away the winter break like moping around beneath the covers. decide the previous day when you will get out of bed, then make sure follow though.

During the first few days of vacation, chances are that you will relish the opportunity to sleep in. It's okay to do this and give yourself a break, because your body will naturally put itself on a schedule to wake itself up earlier.

follow routine. however loose, the structure will both motivate you and keep hours spent 'doing nothing ' to a minimum. Don't play to many games and even if it might be cold to go out for a few hours every week.
Join a volunteer group of some sort. All communities have some

6 Questions?

  1. What direction do you see the U.S. going? Why is it going this direction?
I see the U.S going in a bad direction, I think there might be another depression because of the Obama Care there are a lot of people who might not be able to afford medical care.
2. Why do SAT scores in the U.S continue to go downwards?
I think the reason that SAT scores continue to go down in the U.S, because there are a lot of people in school not doing what they're suppose to be doing in school.
3. What are solutions to low SAT scores?
I think we should get people in schools better education by giving after school programs and getting kids to take the SAT more serious so that they know its an important test.
4. make a few bullet list of a few problems with education in California.

  • Some teachers don't pay attention.
  • Some get mad if you didn't hear the instructions and wont repeat it.
  • Too many teachers giving worksheets than helping out.
  • Kids not doing there homework and not learning the material
5. What are solutions to the California education problems?
I think the principle should talk to his teachers without mentioning any students names so that we all get the same treatment not just one, if a student asks a question help them out rather than get mad, and doing more class activities and communicating more.
6. " To educate a man in mind but not in morals is to educate a menace to society."
What I think this quote is saying is that if you teach a man he'll learn but if you reach out to him and make learning a fun and more than just learning you are helping him or her have better morals with there work than bad ones.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
"It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference."
What I think this statement is trying to say is that you cant always win when you feel like you are you have to prepare yourself to win you have to do step to win at something. Just because you feel like you are going to win doesn't mean you will so always prepare yourself to win.

HPIAM Datat

I think this is a worrying statistic, because the number of student that should be under 2.0 should be a lot less than 1/3 of the school. I think some specific reasons i think this is happening is,because kids are barely getting use to 8 classes so I know next semester will be way better than this one. The way we can resolve this problem is with time or change the schedule back.

HPIAM: ADVISORY PROJECT

Working notebook

The working notebook is the daily notebook taken to class. It holds all the paper and information needed each day. Any three-ring binder can serve as a working notebook; the nylon zippered type tends to last longer. Your working notebook should contain:

  • A portable three-hole punch
  • A zippered pouch with three holes to hold highlighters, pencils, pens, clips, "sticky notes" , and other small supplies
  • section dividers for each subject labeled homework, notes, handouts, and quizzes/tests
 An assignment book
these items are available
One working notebook for all of your child's classes might be too large for some students, especially if they are in high school. Two medium-size notebooks with two or three subject in each is an alternative to one large notebook. morning classes might be placed in another.
Whichever alternative note above that you choose, the important thing is that on a daily basis, you should date, three-hole punch, and file any of his school papers under the appropriate divider for each subject. You should also note assignments in detail in his assignment book.
HPIAM: ADVISORY PROJECT
Next Tuesday, November 5,  bring all your work from all classes in order to show the organize your binder, folders, notebooks, ect. so you need to come prepared

Prompt 4

Prompt 4
Thanks to the internet, people have more access to more information than at any other time in history. People can instantly find information on almost any topic in the time it takes to type a couple of words and click a mouse. But we often know little about the source of this information, including its reliability and the qualifications of the person who wrote it. If we don't know its resource, information is not much good to us.

  1. Do people need to know the source of any information before they use it?
Yes, people know information about a source before using it, because they don't know what they are getting into or if the information is accurate.

2. Plan and write an essay in which you develop your own point of view on the issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observation.
I think that people should know about the information they are searching up, because what if you are searching up information on a project and you got to a website you have no idea ever existed but it has information on your topic. You should never engage in a website you have no idea about they could be giving you made up information or information that has not been proven correct or incorrect. You should either use websites suggested by someone who knows the site rather than taking it a pond yourself. Another reason a website might want you to log into their website is to give you viruses so watch out.

Reflection

Reflections
I want to pass all my classes but I haven't been doing that lately the reason is I'm lazy and I'm a procrastinator, but it's only the beginning of the year i can always pick up the slack and do my work but I'm not going to wait for that day to come I'm going to try to do all my work now and stop missing any days if it's not necessary to miss. The reason I want to do all this work and making up my grades, because I dont want to be held back and not see my fellow friends graduate without me so I'm going to really try and do my work and stay in the game.

Writing Skills 1 of 10

Writing Skills
1 of 10

Communication is at the top of the list of skills that employers look for. And communication in the workplace often means writing.
Health professionals keep patient charts, researchers depend on the money they collect by writing grant application, software engineers write technical specifications, and nearly everyone writes e-mail to people inside and outside their organization. And before you even get the chance to interview for a job, you’ll need to present yourself in cover letters and resumes.
So, by taking writing serious and doing your best on every research paper, every lab report you writ, every new post you write in your blog site, and every writing activity you engage in, you’re preparing yourself for a good career.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
